It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Maurice Turner.
Maurice, 70, was one of the stalwarts of Greenheath Cricket Club,
having joined in 1953 soon after it’s creation, playing for 30 seasons,
until retiring, as captain, in 1982.
In addition Maurice was Secretary and Team Secretary for many years.

| Greenheath, through Paul Cant, has received a letter from Mrs M.Turner which, rather than précis, is reproduced in full.
Dear Paul,
Firstly Thank you for coming to Maurice’s funeral and for your support you gave to my family. Secondly thank you and Greenheath for the beautiful floral tributes that you sent. It was a day I shall never forget.
Would you please convey on behalf of my family, on your website, our thanks for the kind words and prayers which we received from so many of the ‘old gang’.
I have wonderful memories of our time in London and the summers of cricket.
It has been a privilage to have shared my life for forty-seven years with such a wonderful loving man.
As yet not all the money is in, but I will let you know how much was raised for the Kent Cricket Youth Academy. I wish you and the Club a happy 2006.
With kind regards, Mo
